Rosin is basically referred to as the extraction process that utilizes both heat and pressure to instantaneously squeeze the cannabinoids and terpenes from the cannabis. Getting Started With The Process:

 

Now, to start with the process, the first thing you will need a hair straightener. There are two kinds of hair straightener in the market, the good kind, and the bad kind. The good one will have its blade widen up to two inches. So, make sure the blade is about two inches wide if possible. If you have bought the cheaper ones, you can see that the blade is much narrower on this one. Now other things that you will need are, 

  • Parchment paper
  • Cannabis
  • Rosin bag (this is optional)
  • A heat resistant gloves to protect your fingers. 
  • Dabber

 

  • Cut the parchment paper

Cut the parchment paper to a rectangle and folded it in half in the middle to create a square. Make sure that they are larger than the width of your hair straightener so they can spin size. Some of the hair straighteners allow you to read the temperature as they have a digital temperature reading facility. You have to set the lowest setting at 120 Celsius.

  • Time for press

You have to place the stash of weed between the two pieces of that parchment paper. If you prefer to use the dry sift or hash then put them into the rosin bag or mesh bag between the parchment paper. You can purchase what’s called a pre-press. Now once your hair straightener is completely hot, take the weed and place in the middle. Be careful not to burn yourself. Now, it’s time for a press. You’ll know you’re doing it right when you start to see some steam escaping.  

  • Make it cool

You can repeat the process a couple of times to extract rosin from the weed. When it’s done you’ll get some rosin. Lastly, to scrape the rosin, it’s better to use a marble plate that too kept in a fridge. It’s because the cold surface makes it easier to scrape up rosin. Simply place the rosin on the cooled surface and it comes right off. You can later use it to make THC vape juice from rosin.
