When people talk about hemp and cancer medication they often mention the “original Rick Simpson” (RSO oil in short). Now I would like to point out a few important facts.
That the recipe Rick was using came from other people of the 70’s and those weren’t very developed.
That the original naphtha or iso-alcohol leaves a lot of residuals that today can’t be considered very wise for a medical product.
That the original RSO oil version was a high THC oil.
This is vastly different to CBD oils. Some CBD oil makers brands their “CBD” (no THC) as good for cancer. But we know from the most professional institutes today with legal cannabis medication that the best is between 1:1 and 1:3 (THC:CBD) in the favour of CBD. But in the legal market we can only sell up to 0.2% THC. On the other hand with a high altitude outdoor grown product you get many more terpenes and higher levels of cannabinoids (there are over 80) all across the board. These days newly in fashion cannabinoids includes CBC, CBG and THC-V which seem all related to the potency of cannabinoid medication.
In addition to CBD, THC works wonders for grave diseases like cancer because there’s a mental element where the psychoactive process helps in accessing and removing the patterns that created the illness.
Our tincture oils are currently from 1:5-1:30 THC:CBD naturally occurring. We refrain from THC separation because it removes to many other important properties. There’s a lot of marketing going on now because ignorant patients think that higher % of cannabinoids equals to better medicinal properties which is not the case -because the finished extract will have more terpenes and cannabinoids removed. Often in these extracts the terpenes are added artificially after – and they almost always carry a load of residual chemicals from the THC separation process. This is very easy to notice as the smell of these extracts almost always are horrible even if masked by several “flavouring” essential oils (terpenes).
Let me explain in detail why prefer to keep the naturally occurring THC instead of removing it to create higher CBD concentrates.
After my own experimentation I found that the dosage of a weaker concentrate (for ex a 1% or 5% infusion/maceteration) easily can be increased to take in the amount of total cannabinoids needed. Keeping the THC intact, there’s then no change in the maximum CBD dosage possible. More importantly we are keeping all terpenes and flavonoids intact, that greatly benefits the medicinal properties of the plant.
Cannabinoids are better as food additives because they work in the stomach region where the endo-cannabinoid nervous system is rooted. This is different to concentrates that focuses on strong concentrations to be administered in the mouth (orally) under the tongue. In our opinion an inferior method, because the stomach is designed to handle “medicine” and intake of substances. NOT the mouth.
Most of this school of advice simply comes from the past usage (typically the Rick Simpson “cure” that really just is a transmission of a preparation from the seventies). There’s no particular evidence that intensely concentrated CBD administered under the tongue is the best way to cure.
TAKE PARTICULAR NOTICE that with CBD concentrates any curative effect DOES NOT depend on concentrate %.
It is about TOTAL MG CBD ingested – which has no relation to how concentrated you take it. Please understand this relationship. Many people right now are so desperate buying cures for cancer they think just because its higher concentration it must be better. On the contrary, ironically, the more concentrated, the more processed with heat and chemicals, and VOID OF PROPERTIES it will be.
Additionally if you take a strong concentrate it’s difficult for the body to handle. Stomach is much better membrane for intake, cause that’s where the endocannabinoid system is rooted. QUALITY of the CBD is what you should look for.
The thing is most concentrates on the market vary significantly in quality and potency from batch to batch. You don’t know before you tried. Vendors are reusing analysis results from plants from different geographical locations. Location is everything because it is the energetic blueprint.
And – If it’s not you taking the med it’s very difficult to know it’s effectiveness.
We focus on altitude grown hemp (1000-1600m) because it increases the richness in terpenes and strength of the plants.
From personal experience I can testify that lowland grown hemp (same seeds) are different in properties. I have used concentrates that should be the same because the climate and plant is the same. But effects are completely different. Additionally treament/preparation of concentrate, intent, ecology, storage, temperature exposition plays a big part in how effective the medication is.
